Description
The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) is current developing a new Research Strategy for 2026 to 2029. Among other important functions, the Strategy will guide the Institute’s significant investment in new research, shape its relationships with key partners (including planning schools around the world), and determine its approach to generating impact.
In this context, this special session, chaired by the RTPI’s Head of Practice and Research and featuring representatives from other key planning-related institutions, will explore:
• Emerging Europe-wide research priorities;
• Key international research ‘gaps’;
• The scope for greater international collaboration between planning institutes; and
• The role professional bodies and planning institutes should play in supporting and delivering research with partners in academia.
In addition to a panel discussion, there will be the opportunity for the audience to interactively feed into the RTPI’s consultation on its new strategy.
