Description

With the development of the global economy, the tourism industry has ushered in new development opportunities, and governments have increased their support for the tourism industry and promoted the integration and development of tourism resources. In the new period, the expansion of the railway network has provided a solid foundation for the integration of railway and tourism, and the integrated development of railway (track) and cultural tourism based on investment in transport infrastructure has become an important growth point for China's innovative consumption and high-quality development of tourism. The integration of railway and tourism is a positive exploration of a new cooperation model of resource sharing, market mutual integration and synergistic development between the railway and localities. Active practical exploration has been carried out in various places. This paper takes the ‘Xinjiang Tourism by Train’ series of China Xinjiang Railway Tourism Company, the ‘Three Circles and Two Belts’ special line of Harbin Railway Cultural Tourism Group, and the ‘China-Laos Silk Road Express’ of Kunming Railway Bureau Group as examples, discusses the problems encountered in the development of railway tourism integration in China by reviewing the current situation of the research and development of railway tourism integration. Comprehensively analysing the successful experience of rail-travel integration in various countries, the innovative path of rail-travel integration development is explored from the perspectives of policy, service and operation, on the basis of which the innovative strategy of rail-travel integration development is proposed.
